Hi guys! old time guitar player getting an electric guitar after 15 years away. My young family is starting to want to play instruments so im gonna setup my spare room as a little Jam room.
My issue is i need to save space. I am going to get a roland electric drum kit and possibly an amp. But im not sure about the rest. SO here is my dilemma.
Do i get:
IDEA 1: a Guitar amp, Mic speakePA for the microphone, Drums and Amp
IDEA 2: Ditch the drum amp, Get a Guitar modeller and PA/Mixer for everything to go into.
IDEA 3: Keep the drum amp, Get a audio interface for guitar and vocals, nueral DSP for guitar and a set of 8-10 inch studio monitors? and will the sound get muddy with both vocals and guitars going through studio monitors?
I want to play a wide range of styles. and GUYS geez theres some new technology popped up in the last 15 years lol shit is crazy..

I (31 year old white female) am from Canada and have been talking to a 27 year old Algerian male online for 3 years. We mostly chat by message but have done video calls as well. We have developed an emotional bond and have romantic interest in one another, however we need to meet in person to see if we should move forward with the relationship.
He has been able to obtain a Canadian visitor visa and will be arriving in a few months. He has a sister with husband and 2 children who already live in Montreal. He plans to spend the first few days visiting them and then he and myself will meet and spend time together to determine if we are a good match. I live in a city outside of Montreal.
I have always felt his intentions for wanting to meet me and have a relationship with me were pure and not a means to an end for a better life or to obtain citizenship. Probably deep down he is excited about the prospect of having a better life if we were to marry and he stays in Canada, but I am ok with that and feel he also genuinely cares for me. We discussed this at length in the beginning because I was a little paranoid about his intentions, but he has earned my trust by being very honest and willing to answer all of my questions. He has never pressured me about anything or asked for money etc.
He is paying his way here, however I have offered to help out with hotel cost as I make decent money compared to him and it will not be burdensome for me. He would like to come spend some time in my city while we get to know each other , however he is Muslim and has made it clear we cannot be physically intimate outside of marriage and that staying at my apartment would not be permitted, therefore I feel the least I can do is help with his accommodations to some degree.
He has been clear that the next step for him would be marriage. I feel that I need to get to know him in person before I’ll know if I’m interested in marriage and have also been clear about that.
As well, he has explained that he expects his wife to dress modestly/respectfully (ie. no bikini or short shorts) but would not require her to cover her hair if she doesn’t want to. I am Catholic and he is ok with me attending church if we were to marry. He would expect any children to be raised Muslim. He would not be ok with his wife drinking or smoking , or eating non halal meats.
His family does not know about me as relationships outside of marriage are not permitted in his culture. He plans to tell them about me if we become engaged. He lives with his parents so video calls can only happen when they are not home. My family and friends also do not know as I don’t feel they would understand until we’ve met in person and am naturally a private person until a serious relationship is for sure.
He is decent texting, speaking and understanding English and communicating has never been an issue. His English has greatly improved over the three years we’ve been in contact. He is fluent in French and Arabic.
I have a few questions that I am hoping Algerian nationals can answer for me, and specifically Algerian women, in preparation for meeting this man.
1) What are your thoughts on this situation? Do you have any concerns you think I need to be aware of regarding the situation in its entirety ?
2) What is life like for a woman married to an Algerian man? Of course he tells me what a marriage with him would be like from his perspective and expectations - but I am wondering if any Algerian women could provide insight from their perspective and experiences ?
3) If we were to marry - what might I need to be aware of/know about raising Algerian Muslim children?
4) If married, what would travel to Algeria be like for me as a white western woman?
5) His sister has not offered him to stay with her while visiting Montreal, she lives in a small 2 bedroom apartment and says there is not enough room. He will stay in a hotel, I have offered to help pay some. Is this weird? Asking because my therapist felt it was odd that his family wouldn’t be more accommodating given that he does not have a ton of extra money and is travelling all the way from Algeria. My therapist also felt was odd his sister isn’t sponsoring him to come over more permanently as this is his wish - he says siblings cannot be sponsored, only parents spouses and children.

Hi everyone, I am RDMS, RVT and my family is moving to colorado! I graduated 6 months ago and have been working in vascular ever since. I know I am still pretty new at the field, thus, it might be hard to find a job. Should I look at traveling contracts? I would obviously prefer a full time staff position but I realize that is going to probably take a while to find and we are moving in July. Greeting and thank you in advance to anyone who can answer any of my newbie questions. I've traveled to London and Paris and New York in the past and did so without using a travel agent.
I've been trying to figure out how to get a hotel which is easy to get to all the attractions. I'm someone who doesn't mind walking (10K steps a head is average for me). It's like some have shared bathrooms and others have double beds that seem smaller than the typical Queen or full size in other countries)
I will book all my tourist tickets in advance because I hate waits. (That's the most efficient way right?)
Is it possible to go to sea from Rome easily? For scale is that a day trip or something I should plan more for?
How safe are more places to stay? I want to bring my laptop but I don't want it stolen if I leave it in a safe (why are there so few places with them in them)

Need some advice:
I recently upgraded from an older Enduro to a newer Stumpy Evo as year round ride. Bike park season is starting, debating getting a mid 2010s downhill bike to take instead of my Stumpy so I don't rag on a newer bike that leans more on the trail side of Enduro.
There seems to be an abundance of 2014-18 Demo 8s and GT Fury's on the market, anyone have any strong feelings about those two? I'm 6'3" and weigh around 220#, I'm already pushing the limits of the rear shock in the stumpy on everyday laps, so I feel like taking it down some bigger trails is asking for trouble.
Get a real dh for the parks? Get a volume spacer and suck it up? Get better at riding? (Ha!) What would you do?
(Drop $10k on a new carbon dh bike isn't in the cards, my top end is probably $2.5-3k)

So I've been enjoying doing AMA's about what it's like working the front desk at a full-service Hilton hotel for over a year, behind the scenes things, and about the ins-and-outs of what goes on and anonymous stories about guests passing through, (updated proof) but the AMAs always seem dissolve into people just asking about how to swindle their way into getting an upgrade. So I'd like to do an AMA, but please refrain from asking questions pertaining to upgrades. The last thread had a lot of rephrasing of the same "how do i get an upgrade" question. I'll be as brutally honest as possible.

Basic upgrade info to get it out of the way;
Why did I get upgraded at X, but not Y?
- It's determined by property management. Not all Hiltons do complimentary upgrades, some do paid upgrades and others do no upgrades at all. I cannot tell you why you didn't get an upgrade at a specific property or what the policy is like at any given locaiton.
How do you determine who gets an upgrade?
-Upgrades are determined by status, length of stay, and amount paid. If you have a deeply discounted friends and family rate or a contracted lower company rate, you may not get an upgrade over someone of the same or similar status who's paying full price. Shorter stays are more eligible for upgrades since it's a quicker turn around.
How should I ask for an upgrade?
-If you want an upgrade, just ask. Don't beg or demand. Members are eligible for an upgrade, not entitled to an upgrade. Upgrades can be denied. This is not a Hilton thing, this goes for IGH, Hyatt, Marriott, etc. Upgrades are also determined by availability and if they're not avilable, begging or demanding won't make a room suddenly appear
Why when I ask for an upgrade, they say none are available, but when I check the website/app, there are rooms available?
-Just because a room is available to purchase online doesn't mean it's available to give away or for upgrade.
If I digitally check-in, am I no longer eligible for an upgrade?
-Whether or not you get an upgrade through digitally checking in has to do more with management and individual property policies than anything I can answer. Usually if the front desk watches you arrive and can vouch for you not going in the room, you may be able to get an upgrade.
If you check in online, please don't choose whatever room and expect an upgrade at the desk. If you're at a property that doesn't do free upgrades or has policies with digital check-ins, you'll be stuck with what you chose. Choose what looks the most decent to you so at least get exactly the room you requested.
Now that that's out of the way, please refrain from asking questions about upgrades, they will be generally be ignored!

I’m a 28 year old male with an MBA and a Bachelors in Business & Economics who works remote but is based in Colorado. I’ve been with my current company since I graduated college and been with my current boss/team for the past 4 years. I’ve done very well since I’ve been with the company and been promoted 4 times with a few other raises in between. I’m currently making just under $100k with an annual bonus that should realistically take it to at least around $105k with upside for more.
It’s a good, stable situation and I’m generally content, but I’ve been feeling a bit disinterested or unmotivated at times which has led to me looking for other jobs. In the process of doing so, it’s kind of led me to ponder exactly what my career path is, which has in turn made me want to try to narrow my scope a bit and focus on a more defined skill or path rather than just being pretty good at a lot of different thing. What I’m trying to determine (and what I’d appreciate any guidance on) is what the best path would be.
My current position is in Business Intelligence as a part of my company’s marketing department, although my skill set itself isn’t really marketing related whatsoever. I’m very good with Excel (complex formulas, structuring analyses, financial modeling, etc.), SQL, and GIS, and pretty proficient with Tableau as well. Writing SQL code is one of the parts of my job that I find the most satisfying, which makes me think I should lean into coding a bit more, but I don’t currently know any other languages and I don’t have experience actually structuring or maintaining the back-end databases since we have dedicated teams for that.
So in a nutshell, I’m generally a jack of all trades and a master of none currently. I’ve got a good mind for technical skills, but have never really specialized in any specific application. I’d greatly appreciate any and all thoughts on how to focus my path a bit more as I move into the next phase of my career. Thank you in advance!

With the 2.5L motor is there any Cold air intakes out there? I looked at the AEM but it appears to only be for the 2.0 and not the 2.5. Does anyone know if you can fit it? Or if there is a kit that fits that model.

Saw a man walking on my street and taking photos of my house today, so I walked out and asked him what he was doing. He replied that he was a tourist from Greece, and liked to see nice places (I live in the most average neighborhood in New Jersey).
I also asked him where he was staying and he gave the name of a hotel that was pretty close by. I then let him go, and he also snapped a photo of my neighbor's house as well (although I'm not sure if it was to convince me he was actually a tourist or just because he liked both of our houses).
Normally I wouldn't be concerned but a few weeks ago there were two or three burgularies a street away. What should I do?
