Common App (8/10): I am not very skilled at writing essays, so this one took time. Luckily I found an idea that worked for me and I kept sticking with it and revising it to make it better. The idea was talking about all my interests while I was riding a bike. Intertwined non academic that I was interested in as well as physics and engineering. Overall, felt the essay was very strong at highlighting who I am as a person and explained my thinking quite well.
Community Supp (9/10): Talked about my creative side with the theatre community. Explained what I liked about directing and theatre and talked about how that meshed with my stem brain. Felt this one was really good as well and I used it for basically all community and "tell us more" essays.
Uchicago uncommon (9/10): Question was "Where is Waldo Really?", answered in an original-ish way that I thought was really good. My counsellor and family loved it and thought it was innovative. Very proud of that one and genuinely think its the only reason that I was accepted to UChicago LOL.
Princeton Supps (8/10): TBH I spent the least time on these but they were some of the last essays that I wrote. I think that all the practice on other essays really helped as I wrote these quickly and felt they were really good. They highlighted my perspective and ideas without being overly opinionated. Also took a risk with these as I talked about pop culture references and phonk as the soundtrack of my life. I think in the end these are what got me in, my grades were much worse than many others that applied, and others had awards and stuff that I simply did not have.
Why Essays: My why essays were all really specific and referenced details that I had researched: programs, classes, etc. They also added why I would be a good fit there, not just what I would do at that school. How I could use the resources they offer in a successful manner.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with how this turned out, it worked in my favour and I am super thankful. But more than that, I'm super thankful of my parents for always supporting me and helping me to the best of their ability no matter what.
I think that my essays were extremely important as my grades weren't the best in Grade 11, but it seems my essays made up for that. Make sure to spend as much time as you can on your essays since they are crucial imo.
My school limits us to 10 apps but honestly I think that was for the best. With the amount of work I had outside class, I don't think I could have done any more. Plus it meant my applications were high quality and something I was proud of.

I am wondering after about 6 months now, I still have a high sex drive. I always want sex and am horny a lot. I am not acting on it and am not ready for dating or hook ups after being in a 11 year relationship which ended during the holidays last year. Just working on myself. 2023.04.01 12:58 Sunrises_andsets Preparing for EMDR? Should I do phycotherapy or no?

I want to preface that I’m not attempting EMDR, on myself or that I intend to. I would like to make the best of my current resources, so that in the future when I do have access to EMDR I am better prepared.
I have very limited resources financially. At the end of this month I will have access to Psychotherapy (free from a local trauma center). I fear this could potentially be more damaging to my healing progress than beneficial. (Opinions?) I can process, reason, and access to traumatic thoughts easily. I believe I have spent enough time on this, and it’s become more so rumination than actually transformative for me personally at this point.
I’ve been taking steps to develop coping mechanisms to handle the feelings that arise without medication, drugs, alcohol, or other negative coping mechanisms. My emotions are raw and intense. All that I’m missing is access to a mentally “safe place” that induces feelings of comfort. I can access negative emotions and memories at ease, positive ones are more challenging for me. I think it would help me tremendously in the future with EMDR, and the upcoming talk therapy, to be able to access comforting memories that induce good feelings. (Advice?) 
The consequences to damaging treatment are physical as well and phycological. I have neck and back issues that were treated by a NUCCA specialist. This doctor suggested EMDR as the next step for healing. I carry tension in my neck and shoulders I feel tense up in times of stress. Although it’s a structural injury, stress exacerbates the physical pain and my bodies ability to heal.
My neck issues have left me unable to work (why I’m limited on resources). I’m eager to heal and progress forward . I want to be careful of doing things that will take me backwards. What should I look into? Any advice?

A new church was started 8 years ago in one of the developing countries. The pastor of the church had ministered to God (evangelism) since his youth (55yrs now) in rural/tribal areas. Eventually started TV ministry as well. All the funds he gets are used solely for the welfare of the church and people of the church. The pastor's wife works full time as an architect to support their family.
The pastor is extremely disheartened with all kinds of people's sins which he hears through TV ministry as well as in his own church.
Even though as a mere human no one shud truly point out others sins unless they are clean themselves. It is not through works but by faith that we are saved but does that really give us permission to go ahead and sin?
The church was bright and lovely in the beginning. As the days are going by, the true personality of every church member - adultery, gossiping, backbiting, irresponsibility towards the church, no respect towards one another, no respect towards the pastor. There is literally literally not even a SINGLE person I would say is serious and dedicated to christ. Instead creating unnecessary trouble to the pastor and pastors wife by complaining about other church members and things that are untrue and created between within one another.

This pains the pastors and pastor wife's heart. They pray every night at 3am to God about everything that is happening.
The service goes pretty well. It is a small church but there is so much division among one another. Everyone smiles at one another but there is no true compassion or love towards each other. Or atleast mind their own business.
How to deal with the situation?
I am given an opportunity to speak for coming Sunday for 15minutes. If I could make even the smallest impact by the word of God I would be very happy. If anyone would share anything/any verse/any experience etc to me that would actually help ppl in the church.
Eventhough it's a Palm Sunday.
Please brothers and sisters. Pray for this church. Please pray for the pastor and pastors wife as well.

Clarissa was turning the ripe age of 19 that summer, and Mama was becoming insistent that she marry next London season. Clarissa up till that point had only been brought out once before, and she proved to be less than interested in the life of debutant. The beautiful country estate of Wingrave Park is where she truly thrived. Finally, another gloriously green summer filled with tea parties, games of croquet across the lawn, long walks down winding paths and through thick forests, and warm dinners next to the fireplace had begun. Little did Clarissa know, this would be her last beautiful summer, for every one after would not be the same. This summer though, will be special. Special because there is a new face in the house. The housekeepers son has come to stay for the summer months after being away at University to study. Despite being brought in though, Clarissa is constantly reminded he could never be one of them. However, she’s taken a keen interest in the dark and handsome stranger from a different world. Soon, they begin a love affair, and the summer turns into something Clarissa could never have imagined. Until July 28th, 1914, when an assassination triggered the beginning of the collapse of their world. And on August 1st, 1914, Germany declared war on Russia. Everything in Clarissa’s life began to change, and as the landscape of political life around them is changing, and soon the world - and all that they know - is rocked irrevocably by a war that changes their lives forever.

The double membership is a well-known historical phenomenon to which paganism in general and Druidism in particular lend themselves particularly well. It is only a problem when one of the religions involved is an intolerant monolatry. There is a problem only when one of the religions involved is an intolerant (pleonasme my spellchecker says ) monolatry.
Since polytheism is by definition tolerant, not exclusive, and also by definition admitting the validity of all kinds of other warships, contrary to the monolatries characteristic of current mass religions, no other worship , no other god (agnostos theos/sive deus sive dea) could completely dislike true druidicist. The real druidicist always strives on the contrary to the most complete irenicism towards other cults. This attitude of intellectual openness, comparable to open secularism in political matters, often leads to a kind of double membership with regard to the basic druidicist. This is what John Toland very precisely advocated for his pantheists (in his pantheisticon) besides, but for other reasons it is true (the fear of persecution).
The current number of druidicists is therefore difficult to determine because of the well-known historical phenomenon of double membership, which lends itself particularly well to paganism in general and particularly druidism. There is a problem only when one of the religions in question is an exclusive monolatry.
As I see that you do not understand or that you are pretending, I will give you some examples.
-Free double membership. Some 1st century of our era Jews were also Christian. History books call them Judeo-Christians.
-Forced double membership (under penalty of exile). Some 16th century Spanish Jews, the Marranos, were both Jewish (secretly at home) and Catholic (on Sunday at mass).
-“Forced” double membership. Islam allows its followers to display all outward signs of dominant religious conformity if they have reason to fear for their lives. This is the principle known as taqiyya (suras 3.28,16.106). Historically especially practiced by the Shiites living under Sunni domination but Sunnis can also have recourse to it as in the case of the Moriscos still in Spain. Arthur de Gobineau, in 1865, in his work Religions and philosophies, seems to be one of the first Western authors to describe the principle of this religious concealment.
-Half-free double membership. Many 11th-century Icelanders were officially Christians in their foreign relations or in their dealings with foreign countries, but remained pagan privately or in their homes (decision of the godi Thorgeir Thorkelsson).
-Completely free double membership.
The cohabitation of Buddhism and Shintoism in Japan since the 8th century is an excellent example of this double observance still observable today, and it even has a name:shinbutsu shugo. According to the circumstances, the average Japanese is either Buddhist or Shintoist. In fact, most Japanese celebrate weddings and births following Shintoist rites and funerals following Buddhist rites. 2023.04.01 12:57 Party-Vanilla9567 Volume Buttons don’t work after battery replacement

Hello guys, The other day I changed the battery of my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Before closing it up I testdrove it and everything seemed to work well. After a few hours I realized that my Volume Down Buttons wasn’t working. Mute Switch and Volume Up worked fine. So I thought I might have not reconnected the ribbon cable properly. So I opened up my phone again and replugged the ribbon cable for the volume buttons. No luck, same as before. I could hear and feel the Volume Down button clicking just as usual. Nevertheless is took some IPA and cleaned the contact around the switch and the contacts of the ribbon cable. No luck still. Then I took my phone apart even more so I could take out the little board with the Volume Buttons and Mute Switch. Inspected it for physical damage but couldn’t see anything. I took the cable apart to the part where it seems to be soldered onto the wireless charging coil. So I put everything back together. Started up my phone and now neither Volume Up or Down work. Mute switch still works. Since I’m sure there is no visible physical damage I’m wondering are the pads that are soldered to the charging coil somehow needed for the buttons to work and by prying on them they lost functionality? Or was I too rough with the cable and broke it inside so it’s not visible?
If I order a replacement part. Will it also come up with the message that it’s not a genuine Apple Part? Will it function just as before? Can I desolder the contacts to the wireless charging coil so I don’t have to take the whole phone apart to replace it? I’m not using wireless charging since it’s slow and bad for the battery. I would just cover the contacts with electrical tape.
Any help is appreciated!

I can’t seem to attach a video with sound, so I’ll just describe it. I have a melodysusie e-file from Amazon, the white portable Selene model that goes up to 30000rpm. It works ok when filing, but seems to be making random jumps in sound and sometimes the speed also randomly jumps (although the rpm on the machine doesn’t change). It also does this when not on a nail and just turning alone. Almost sounds like there’s something wrong with it inside, since it’s not the sound of the turning alone (it keeps changing pitch so it must be changing the way it turns and there’s multiple sounds at one sometimes).
It’s the second time I’ve used it, and it started behaving strangely partway through the first time. It’s also getting quite hot this time despite not having done so last time. I’m wondering whether this is normal and expected, or whether I was delivered damaged goods.
Should I give it back? Can I even give it back if I purchased from Amazon?

I have been feeling miserable ever since the universities started rolling out admission decisions. It started with a rejection from UIUC, followed by UC Boulder, and then VT (although I did get into their MEng CS program). It felt like a constant blow to my confidence and self-worth. After three rejections, I finally received an acceptance letter from MSU for the MScs program. At first, it was a relief to have an acceptance in my hands, but the more I thought about it, the more uncertain I became. I don't know much about MSU and whether it's a good university for computer science. It's not the university I had been dreaming of attending, and it's not one that was even on my top list.
Looking back, I wonder if I had been too confident about my application. I thought that my profile was strong enough to get me into UIUC or any of the UCs, but clearly, I was wrong. It's a humbling experience, but it's also disappointing to not get into the universities I had been dreaming of attending. At the same time, I'm not sure if I should be happy or not about MSU. I don't want to settle for something that is not a good fit for me.
I'm feeling a mix of emotions right now. I'm happy that I at least got accepted somewhere, but I'm not sure if it's the right place for me. I'm hesitant to commit to MSU when I have yet to hear back from UCLA, UCSB, and UCSC, but I have a feeling that they will also reject me. It's a tough pill to swallow, and I'm feeling lost and uncertain about my future.
In light of my recent acceptance to MSU, I'm trying to do more research on the university and its computer science program. However, I'm finding it hard to get a clear picture of the university without hearing from those who have first-hand experience. So, I'm reaching out to anyone who has attended MSU or has knowledge of the university to share their thoughts and views.
I'm interested in learning about the batch size and whether it's a close-knit community or not. I would also like to know about the research assistantship (RA) and teaching assistantship (TA) opportunities available to students. Additionally, I'm curious about the work opportunities for computer science graduates in Michigan and if there are any tech companies in the area that hire MSU graduates.
Apart from academics, I would also like to know about life at Michigan and what the campus culture is like. Are there any extracurricular activities or clubs that I should know about? How is the social scene on campus?
Overall, I'm feeling lost and uncertain about my future. I thought I had a good profile, but it's clear that I wasn't as strong of an applicant as I thought I was. This is something that can be hard to remember because many managers don't know where the line stops. For example, my manager is one moment swearing and laughing with us inappropriately, and the next she's not approving leave or farming you out to a different department to do more work. This means you never know where you stand and you let your guard down. Many people should not be managers and those that are should have clear boundaries so staff know where they stand, rather that being used.

Samsung S22 base with exynos when it comes to battery is a complete misunderstanding.
Such a phone should not come out for sale at all. I can't believe that during testing during production they weren't aware of this, that the phone needs 2-3x charging to be able to use it even if only listening to music from Spotify with Buds headphones. Not to mention other work on the phone.
And all these settings adjust ideas from people, which can help and sometimes do nothing, after all, it should not depend on us to make this phone work properly.
The overall speed of this phone is fine, but the battery is an absolute misunderstanding, it's like spitting in people's faces before buying on premiere.

Casca and Griffith archetypes in fiction
I'm going to compare Casca and Griffith to characters in other media. I want to describe their archetypes. I'm going to talk about Guts a little bit too.
My analysis is quite superficial, sorry for that. But there's a lot of deep and detailed analyses out there. Why not have a deliberately superficial conversation about vague impressions of characters? After all, the difference between "deep" and "superficial" traits of a character is subjective.
I have a specific way of describing characters, so we'll need a bit of theory before diving in.

Basics

I describe a character type as a list of dynamics:
  • Dynamic 1. ...
  • Dynamic 2. ...
  • Dynamic 3. ...
  • And so on.
(Doesn't matter what the word "dynamic" means in general, specific examples are all that matters.)
However, it shouldn't be a list of random dynamics. The dynamics have to overlap, be somewhat equivalent and have a common theme. Here's a made up simplified example:
  • Dynamic 1. The character likes to have fun with friends.
  • Dynamic 2. Likes to work on projects with friends.
  • Dynamic 3. Likes to actively help their friends.
  • Dynamic 4. Likes to make new friends.
As you see, those dynamics overlap, mean basically the same thing and have a common theme "life + friends". And yet those descriptions are not 100% equivalent, each dynamic adds new information and context.

Terminology

This bit of terminology is going to be important:
  • "Outside world" = something that affects almost everyone.
  • "Personal world" = something that's important to a specific person (including personal relationships). "Feeling sad" is an event in the personal world. But "falling in love" and "being in a love affair" and "going through a breakup" are events in the personal world too.
All this may depend on context, though.

Harry Potter and LOTR and Evangelion

Harry Potter) and Frodo and Shinji:
  1. Simplifying, Harry is just a decent wizard, he has no special means of fighting evil; yet he's one of the biggest threats to Voldemort. Frodo is just a hobbit, not a warrior or wizard; yet he proves to be one of the crucial people for defeating Sauron. Shinji is just a teen; yet he plays a very important role.
  2. Harry gets into most adventures "accidentally" or it's a Dumbledore's plan. Frodo was given a mission by Gandalf and it all went downhill/uphill from there. Shinji was called up by his father.
  3. Harry can get angry, but fundamentally he's chill and compassionate. Frodo barely snaps while carrying the most manipulative evil artifact ever. Shinji is apathetic and reluctant.
  4. Till the very end, Harry remains just a normal teen in the company of friends; yet he's on a world-saving mission. Till the very end, Frodo is just a hobbit in the company of his friend Sam; yet they are on the world-saving mission. Till the very EoE, Shinji is just a teen (not) sorting out his problems; yet he routinely saves the world.
  5. Both Harry and Frodo have strong wills (to resist mind control and disregard death), but they don't have much personal agenda. Shinji doesn't have any explicit goals either; and he has the will to remain more stable than Asuka.
All three fit the overarching theme "contradictory connection to the outside world".

One-Punch Man

Saitama):
  1. Saitama appears to most people as a weak hero (in actuality he can one shot one punch anyone and anything), so he is not treated as an important/famous person. But he is a threat.
  2. Saitama behaves as if he gets dragged into a mess passively/accidentally.
  3. Saitama is fundamentally chill because of his power. If he wasn't chill, he would destroy the Earth.
  4. Saitama behaves as if he's just a regular guy who reacts to regular inconveniences. Even though he fixes global events.
  5. Saitama had the determination to become the strongest being on Earth... but now he's bored/depressed without any specific goal.
Saitama has a contradictory connection to the world too.

Berserk

Griffith):
  1. He starts as a very "side character" compared to important figures in the Berserk world. Yet he proves to be a threat/factor.
  2. His goal is formulated mostly in terms of the outside world. To rule, to have a kingdom. "Griffith's goal has always been intrinsically tied to humanity and politics." (c.) PixelDemise. Outside world pushes him to the ultimate action: sacrificing everyone for his dream.
  3. He's polite and... "chill". Great charisma. Even though the world of Berserk is harsh.
  4. On one hand, he is immersed in the world of politics. On another hand, he is in the campy company of the Hawk. On one hand, he dreams about a kingdom. On another hand, he forgets his dreams because of Guts. = Outside world interestingly overlaps with the personal world.
  5. Unlike others, Griffith does have an explicit goal/agenda. It is still vague, though.

Undertale

Sans) is one of the farthest outliers, but he's got this:
  1. An extremely intelligent and observant "side character". The weakest monster and the most overpowered threat.
  2. Forced to fight by a very strange world. Against a very strange world. By "strange" I mean resetting, consuming timelines.
  3. Always "polite" (on a deep level), i.e. mostly unfazed by the most strange and most horrible events. Never rules out your last chance to be a good person. Has unconditional compassion, even if it was caused by a promise.
  4. Lonely, but has a ton of friends. Combines a regular citizen and... a science researcher / holder of esoteric knowledge.
  5. Unbreakable will and seeming laziness.
He's got that "contradictory connection to the outside world". But he probably has another major theme which may overshadow this.

I think Guts) is a rare character in fiction. Here're some of his dynamics I can think of:
  • Dynamic 1. He lives in the ruins of his past personal world.
  • Dynamic 2. He lives in the ruins of his past relationships.
  • Dynamic 3. He looks for a part of his past personal world. A part of his past relationships. Why? To get revenge or some other important transformation.
  • Dynamic 4. Guts is ready to fight the entire world. Even though he doesn't care about the fight itself.
I think Guts is similar to Zagreus) from the game Hades 2020. Zagreus has a much nicer version of the story:
  1. Zagreus lives in the ruins of his possible personal world.
  2. Zagreus lives in the ruins of his possible relationships (with his parents).
  3. Zagreus looks for a part of his past personal world. A part of his [possible] past relationships. To restore what "could have been".
  4. Zagreus is ready to fight the entire Underworld. Even though he doesn't care about the fight itself.
Instead of looking for Griffith, Zagreus is looking for his mother. Who had to hide/be hidden.
The overarching theme is "struggler".

2023.04.01 12:57 docmatta Rebellion in the church! How to deal with it?

A new church was started 8 years ago in one of the developing countries. The pastor of the church had ministered to God (evangelism) since his youth (55yrs now) in rural/tribal areas. Eventually started TV ministry as well. All the funds he gets are used solely for the welfare of the church and people of the church. The pastor's wife works full time as an architect to support their family.
The pastor is extremely disheartened with all kinds of people's sins which he hears through TV ministry as well as in his own church.
Even though as a mere human no one shud truly point out others sins unless they are clean themselves. It is not through works but by faith that we are saved but does that really give us permission to go ahead and sin?
The church was bright and lovely in the beginning. As the days are going by, the true personality of every church member - adultery, gossiping, backbiting, irresponsibility towards the church, no respect towards one another, no respect towards the pastor. There is literally literally not even a SINGLE person I would say is serious and dedicated to christ. Instead creating unnecessary trouble to the pastor and pastors wife by complaining about other church members and things that are untrue and created between within one another.
Yes !
This pains the pastors and pastor wife's heart. They pray every night at 3am to God about everything that is happening.
The service goes pretty well. It is a small church but there is so much division among one another. Everyone smiles at one another but there is no true compassion or love towards each other. Or atleast mind their own business.
How to deal with the situation?
I am given an opportunity to speak for coming Sunday for 15minutes. If I could make even the smallest impact by the word of God I would be very happy. If anyone would share anything/any verse/any experience etc to me that would actually help ppl in the church.
Eventhough it's a Palm Sunday.
Please brothers and sisters. Pray for this church. Please pray for the pastor and pastors wife as well.
Church name : Full of Grace.

2023.04.01 12:56 hoggyhedge Is there any hope?

I didn't know about avoidance at that time so I just thought he was kind of weird. I spent hours trying to understand him. I'd ask constantly about why he was hot and cold but he could never answer it.
Anyway now we get to the present day and whether it's exhaustion or something else but the cycle kind of stopped. I don't act anxiously anymore, I think ive got to the point after 3 years where I'm just thinking nothing is changing, only I can change.
So I've been very calm in the relationship now. But taking a step back has allowed me to see what a mess he is. Constantly unable to understand emotions, constantly doubting himself, he's so disconnected from himself. I think it must be difficult. Now I'm not sure where to go from here. I mostly leave him alone now. But me not reaching out and him not reaching out is kind of just not a relationship. I think my anxiety somewhat kept the relationship going and now I've somewhat just accepted he's a mess and can't meet my needs, I've stopped trying. It feels like a bit of a standstill. I don't know if there's any hope for the future at this point.
I reached out to a relationship guru type person and they told me it's a good opportunity to work on myself and he might become more stable if I do. However it doesn't seem that way, it seems like the push and pull has stopped, but because of that, so has the relationship. It's been a push and pull dynamic for 3 years and now I've taken a step back I'm not sure what's going to happen from here.
So for those that have stopped this dynamic and changed themselves, what exactly happened to the relationship? If it's a DA AP thing, and the AP stops then what is going to happen? is there any hope or if I pull away will it just end the relationship. Thanks for reading.

Help Sizing Battery Storage for our Solar Installation
Hi all,
I moved into a house in Portugal with an existing solar panel installation. One of the Sofar Solar inverters is designed to support storage batteries, but it doesn´t have them yet. How do I figure out how much storage is optimal for the equipment?
I have a lot of the information needed, but maybe not enough. The inverter has ten solar panels feeding it, rated 320W max per panel. The Solarman App tells me that this inverter is currently producing (for March) a maxium of 22 KWh per day.
A fellow who lives nearby with a similar setup enthusiastically recommends installing sixteen LiFePo4 batteries like he has, and offered to help. That´s very tempting, but will it match this system´s production and our needs?

Figuring out how much energy we can use is a work in progress. We are in the process of setting up a system to gather usage stats, using a Shelly device that measures current draw for the house and and total solar energy production. It feeds data to a controller that logs the measurements.
We´re just beginning to collect those statistics.
We have also ordered an electric car, and will have an L2 charger installed in the garage. We´ll be collecting power usage from the charging system too.
For right now, I´d like to figure out what is the capacity for battery storage for this system. I don´t want to buy too much and underutilize it.

2023.04.01 12:56 ChrisE_ Fresh build 7900xt crashing in all my games

After building a new Pc with a 7900xt yesterday with fresh installs of everything, thought originally it was windows 11 so moved to 10 was getting BSOD but that’s no longer happening
Most games crash after 5 minutes
I’ve tried alot of fixes so far and nothing has worked for me
Is there an actual working fix for this or should I just get a refund and go for Nvidia?
Really frustrating I saved and spent quite a lot on my first build and it’s not running any game for longer than 5/10 minutes without a straight crash
Any help would be greatly appreciated at this stage

Former game dev here:
Most of this was already a comment on another post, but I though I might as well turn it into an actual post, since people should really understand this.
You can call it FUD all you like, doesn't change the fact that it's true. Here we go:

TL;DR: You cannot simply take assets (3D models, etc.) from one game and "put" them into another game. NFTs are great, but they don't add anything of value to gaming and there is a lot of potential for even more predatory monetization.
Basically if we go down the NFT route in the gaming industry we will ruin it even more than it already is.

NFTs - interesting technology - lots of future potential - excellent for contracts or public participation like voting --- BUT --- This whole idea that you can just take an asset - lets say a skin (basically just a rigged and textured 3D-model, possibly with some lighting and material shaders applied) from one game (engine) and put it into another has to be one of the dumbest things I keep reading on this sub-reddit. That is simply not how games or assets work.
For one - there are different formats for 3D models and each engine has its own preference or even requirement as to which format is even usable / functional. NOT EVERY 3D MODEL SIMPLY WORKS WITH EVERY ENGINE.
Secondly - Even if the assets are able to be imported into the new engine there almost certainly will be problems with scaling, texturing and shading, because not every engine has the same capabilities for shading and texturing. World-scale and model-scale of an asset can vary wildly depending on what the original modeler intended. Sure you can simply scale it down, but that will most likely create new problems that need to be resolved and the texturing / shading issue still remains.
Third - Animations: Every game does animation a little different. Unless it is a completely static asset there will 100% be mismatches between the animation-systems. I've seen animations not working properly within the same engine and same game just because one animator did it slightly different than the system required. The idea that animated 3D-models can simply be put in another game and will animate just fine is simply ludicrous and shows how little people understand of game-development.
Now why am I pointing all this out? Because its very important to understand that:
YOU CANNOT SIMPLY TAKE AN ASSET FROM GAME A AND PUT IT INTO GAME B. THAT IS NOT HOW GAME DEVELOPMENT WORKS.
That is to say that the only way to do this would be to basically re-create the asset you want for the new game specifically - and then of course, you have to do that for every subsequent game you want to use it in. No dev studio is going to just do that for free, so you can use your NFTs. The only way I see this to work is if there are specific coops between studios, but those are also resource-intensive so they will want their cut - which opens us all up to a whole new level of predatory monetization ( reason I left this industry).
And if they already are at the point where there is a studio-coop then NFTs simply offer nothing that wasn't already possible. I haven't heard a single use-case for NFTs from all the advocates and hyped managers at my former employer that would offer somethings we couldn't already do before - in a much simpler way.
Seriously - we are all Apes but you just sound like fucking monkeys when you repeat this dumb shit. It's time to stop bro...

So we just had our annual payrise. I'm a shift who is now going to earn (wait for it) £10.70 an hour! Oh how great that is. But wait, my age-mate barista is now earning... £10.42? So I'm earning 28p extra an hour, with all the added stress and responsibility??? Is it wrong of me for wanting to step down to a barista again? It's just not worth it at all, especially since I'm a FT student alongside working 30+ hours a week
