Minecraft redstone engine

So, Recently I started working on a minecraft hunger games server. It’s a huge project, including lots of redstone and commands. One thing I’m struggling with is how to make it so a cannon noise goes off whenever a player dies. As in the movies, whenever a player dies a cannon goes off. So is there a way to make a cannon noise whenever a player dies? Or a noise that resembles a cannon?

We are an open and accepting community that wants our players to feel safe and free of any harassment, trolling or toxicity. We use a whitelist and application system to ensure that those joining are coming into a safe and friendly environment.
As I said above, we try to keep our server as close to the vanilla experience as possible.

Hey friends. So recently my friends and I tried to use a pack called Just Another Whistle Stop. However, the server pack for that seems to be just... broken, and we couldn't get it to work and gave up. It's too much work for us and we don't know enough about servers to figure out how to fix it.
So I'm here hoping to possibly find a different pack with similar traits?
TL;DR of the preferred pack: Traincraft or Immersive Railroading(or a different train mod, as long as it has Steam Locomotives)
Some form of 'biome based ore generation'. In base minecraft you just really do not need to use trains for any 'real' purpose other than they're pretty. We would really like something that actually makes them USEFUL for more than a few discrete things, the best one we've found is making ore rare and in big deposits. Especially when tied with limited stack sizes, it makes trains much more actually useful.
Some amount of tech would be nice! More than just what usually comes from something like Immersive Engineering, anyway.
Millenaire or similar. (JAWS had Millenaire and Minecolonies for example). Something to give 'towns' to take the trains to would be really cool!
Obviously, if there's no pack out there like this, then that's totally okay. I know it's really a bunch of rather specific requests. But if anyone does know one out there that fits the bill(s) I'd love to hear about it!

I'm looking for a server running on the version 1.19.4, as it's the version I'm most comfortable playing. Having a whitelist is important to me as it adds an extra layer of security and ensures that only trusted players are allowed in.
One of my key priorities is finding a server with an active and welcoming community. It's important to me to find a group of players who are friendly, supportive, and open to building new friendships. Toxicity and negativity are big turn offs for me, so I'm hoping to find a community that's focused on having fun and enjoying the game together.
In addition to those requirements, I'm also looking for a server that runs 24/7. This is important to me because I want to be able to play whenever I have free time without worrying about whether the server is up or not.

Hello everyone, had a kinda weird question.
My household has a bunch of kids and adults and we love to play games together (Minecraft, Space Engineers, Ark, Valhime, those kind of games). We have rented servers for many games over time, but have got sad loosing saves when we take a break from one game for a bit to play another and keeping subscriptions for many servers when we are taking a break and are the only ones using them does not seam cost efficient. I have been considering maybe looking into purchasing a small server that would be able to support us all playing (Almost all locally, but being able to play from work would be nice... I can set up port forwarding on router), 5 ish at most at one time. Was considering what would be a good starting place for this. Obviously only hosting one game at a time, but would give us the ability to switch as needed. I was trying to find guides online and haven't really found anything that works.

hello!
lately my chrome has been shutting down after a couple seconds of opening and reopening with two news tabs with nothing on it except my last name on the address bar and "this site can be reached" as the result.
i saw another reddit post on here talking about a virus they had (the properties extension) that was making their computer do something similar. that post talked about "chrome_test" being one of the things on their app data local files that was causing the problems, which is one of the things on the address bar of the tab automatically being added on my pc. mine does not have any extensions that i can see, though, and is not redirecting me to any other search engines or websites.
this is not working on the chrome installed on my mac or anything else. i ran window antivirus, reset chromed, reinstalled it, deleted any suspicious files or programs, everything i could.
please help i am worried of any malicious hijacking or something going on, but cannot figure out if it is just something simple my computer is doing wrong that i am not noticing.
note: this started happening right after i downloaded shaders for minecraft. that may be where the virus got in??

Our server is a whitelisted SMP with a unique approach to promoting town-building and general community events. We try not to alter Minecraft's main gameplay loop, but we do have events that add flare and replayability to our server. We do not have a towny or claims plugin. We believe in a vanilla player-honored system that allows a more natural and organic feel to play.
Tight-Knit Community: Our server promotes the idea of forming bonds and friendships that will last long past the servers' lifetime. Every player should feel welcomed by our friendly community. We try our best to avoid drama and disruptive players. We invite you to not only join our server but also our family. If you need help, just ask! Someone will gladly offer you a hand.
All types of players are welcome: Whether you are a Builder, Redstoner, PvP/Explorer, or even a new player looking for their footing. Maybe you want to make map art, build a mini-game, or even create fun events for the community to bond over. Anyone and everyone is welcome to play.
The Vanilla Experience: As mentioned above no claims, no /tpa, no /warp. The exceptions are one player sleep, the ender dragon doesn't break blocks, fire spread is off, and you can see your horse's stats. We strive to create a server that doesn't change or break the fundamental joys of Vanilla Minecraft and we want to find like-minded individuals that want to help foster our community.
Honor and Trust: We trust our players and always give room for fairness. Coreprotect: The server is backed up and protected, so there’s no worry about something being stolen or griefed. If something were to occur, staff will fix any problem asap.
Resets are very far apart: The first season of Townscraft ran for 20 months. The launch of the second season started with the release of 1.18, due to changes in world generations. Our next reset is not in the foreseeable future, allowing big projects to be started and finished with ease.
Community Events: We occasionally have community-hosted events run by staff or by anyone willing where anyone can participate and have fun such as hide-and-seek, boat racing and gift exchanges.

I've been all over the place with Jobs and careers since i've been out of school. Diagnosed ADD, I currently work for a defense contractor in operations and supply chain. It's definitely a desk job, and I spend most of my time in excel and in meetings. I've moved up quickly and am good at what I do, and am being compensated comfortably with room for growth in the mid to high 100k range. But I'm not happy, and wish I could be a technician at the company I work for actually building the stuff I'm crunching numbers for. I graduated with a BS in Finance, worked as an analyst for 3 years, quit that job to be a wildland firefighter over the summer, worked as an EMT for a year, and left that field after I couldn't afford to support myself and the family I plan to have sometime soon. Tried to go Fire Department, and couldn't justify all of the mandatory over time and work life balance (lack of). I just feel stuck, and wish I would have went to school for engineering, but at the same time I feel like the engineer's I work with are on the computer in excel more than I am sometimes. I would love to do the technician work, but at half the salary I make now, I don't know if I can justify it. are there jobs that I can either go back to school for or types of engineering positions that actually partake in the assembly of products instead of just design? Would I have to go all the way back for a second bachelors degree in a stem field? are there certificates I could look into? For example I love building models in my free time and putting things together. I've been a lego kid since as long as I can remember. when I was younger I used to spend countless hours in Minecraft trying to build the craziest structures I could. I've tried computer coding, but gave up after a few weeks as It didn't feel tactile enough for me. curious about my options, and if any other's have been in similar positions to me. I'm also keeping in mind that I may never love the job I do, and need to be ok with where I'm at and its ok to not love your job. I always wonder if its to risky to switch, now that I'm getting older and am in the early stages of family planning. I'm worried once I have a family, any career changes and instability are off the table.

Brewing is a fascinating idea for Minecraft, as its an interesting kind of magic that fits in line with the crafting part of the game (and even mining if you consider gathering brewing materials analogous), but there have been a lot of complaints on how it has been implemented.

Brewing is unintuitive. While its not the most complex thing once you get the hang of it, it's basically impossible to start and gain any progress in brewing without a wiki (although to be fair, the Nether in general is like that). Even with it's cousin enchanting, a new player without a wiki could still make some progress and get improvements from the mechanic, even if they don't fully understand it and are inefficient, while in brewing you need materials the game doesn't fully tell you and in a specific order.
Brewing has no progression. Its dumped on you basically right before reaching the end because it requires nether fortress items, so there is little progression to the system throughout the game, going from weaker to stronger, unless you count suspicious stews (again, comparing to enchantments, books, anvils, and xp help there be some progression and ways to get into it). Its also weird you can't start brewing early since Villagers and Witches can use potions, and clerics even have a brewing stands, which is impossible to use before finding a fortress. It also doesn't help that Nether Fortresses can be so annoying to find they are easily some of the worst casual run killers (especially if they spawn far away), meaning some players can never interact at all with the mechanic in a world.
For all the trouble brewing is to get working, its inability to be stacked at all makes it hard to justify using, but if you could stack, even up to 16, potions would be super annoying, especially in pvp. A lot of the time, enchanting is just seen as better since its often more convenient, can be accessed earlier, and gives permanent buffs, although obviously you can use both in tandem.

I have an idea that I think will fix all 3. That is splitting the brewing stand into 2 items, the brewing stand, which now uses copper to make, and the mixer, which uses a blaze rod to make.

For the brewing stand, it will work similarly, but be able to be used and accessed earlier (due to using copper instead of a blaze rod to make) for the cost of some power, so in this you can only make potions rather than buffing the potions (the point of the mixer). As much as I like the idea of passing potions through a brewing stand multiple times, it doesn't make as much sense how they do it here, since that's to purify it, which is why moonshine has such high proof iirc, so that won't be the focus here. You can make any base level potion, and it will work kind of like a furnace, but you need 4 kinds of items, labelled clearly in the interface. The first two are the potion ingredient and bottle, same as usual. The other two are fuels - you need an "undead" organic material, so something like rotten flesh, but Blaze Powder will still be by far the most efficient of these (and I'm thinking of allowing Amythest since its a purple magic crystal, perhaps it could be latent with some magical power, but it's not required), and a mushroom to decompose that material, with Fortress Wart being by far the best still, but regular mushrooms and wart can still work. The Fuel determines how fast the potions are made, while mushrooms determine how much fuel is needed to make them (although perhaps it could also be tied to potion potency and duration). Using this, you can make any base level of potion.

For the mixer, there will be a slight change in how potions are notated, and it will be more similar to enchantments, like how you can have a helmet or a helmet with one or more enchantments, you'd instead have a potion with effects rather than a potion of that effect. For the mixer, you need to insert a blaze rod and two potions to mix their effects together to get a single potion with those effects (perhaps at the cost of experience, and perhaps some of the potion evaporated, which is why you only get one instead of two). You can also add other things in, such as glowstone, redstone, and fermented spider eye for their existing effects (twisted wart might also be a good corrupter, maybe it would be possible to corrupt if they were used as fuel in the brewing stand), water to dilute the effects to a lower level, milk/honey to remove all negative potion effects, and lava to remove all positive potion effects, suspicious stew to add its effect, and gunpowder to switch between bottle types (although I think a splash bottle recipe could be added to the crafting table).

I think this idea of a brewing stand and mixer would help alleviate a lot of the problems people have with brewing. It would allow you to progressively learn and get a feel for potions during a playthrough earlier, while still getting a buff to its power once you get fortress items but not be bound to them. It would also help them in pvp and exploring, where you could have a curated brew of different effects, but not just spam a whole bunch on harming potions or regeneration effects indefinitely, while still getting more out of the time you have with things like night vision and water breathing. Also this could allow chests/fishing to have loot with powerful potions with multiple effects, possibly both upside and downside abilities in the same one, which could be fun trying to figure out when to use early.

I think this would also pave the way for adding new items that would be possible to brew. I've heard of people saying brewing coffee beans should give swiftness or haste, so you could give it a lower effect of that than the current items. Brewing could also be expanded to be a good dump for useless/cosmetic items (even stone could have like a low-level slowness and/or protection effect if we really wanted it too), which would make brewing a lot easier to get into, especially if you don't want to pull up a wiki.
